Trouble report 370

Hotspots are incorrect when "Automatic Resize" is used with IVR format

Versions affected

3.0 - 3.1

Description

When you select the "Automatic Resize" option on the Save Image As dialog box and then save to IVR format, the image hotspots disappear or appear in the wrong places in the final image.

This affects only IVR format.  Hotspots work correctly with all other formats.

Workaround

To work around this problem, control the size of your panorama before applying hotspots. You can do this with the Resize command (New image menu) or by selecting "Image height" or "Image width" and entering an value for the height or width on Wizard Step 5. If you do enter a value, you can change the value later. To change the value later:

  1. Exit the Wizard by clicking "Done".
  2. Right-click on the "Resized" thumbnail and select "Show Source".
  3. Enter a new size and press "OK".
  4. Double-click the "Final image" thumbnail before applying hotspots or saving the image.

To use this technique, begin by entering an arbitrary starting value for the height (e.g. 400) in the Wizard. Complete the panorama and exit the Wizard. Use the "Compute file size" button on the Save Image As dialog box to determine  the file size. Resize the image (as described above) to be larger or smaller and test the file size using the "Compute file size" button. When you reach a good file size, add your hotspots to the final image and then save as IVR.

Status
