I used an 8.5x11 scanner to scan bunches of 17x11 photos each into two image files.

What's the right way to stitch these with PF?

I see you can disable the image warping by selecting Curved Film plane in the Focal length dialog (Tools menu). Is this the right way? Is there anything else I need to know?

It seems to me that it is not possible to scan a 17x11 image in just two sections that overlap. In order to have sufficient overlap, it may be necessary for you to divide your image into three sections. However, for this use of The Panorama Factory you may be successful with a relatively small overlap.

To disable image warping in V1.6, select Curved film plane on the Focal length dialog (Tools menu).

To disable image warping in V2.0 and higher, select Swing lens or rotational camera on the Camera properties dialog (Tools menu).

Depending on how repeatable your scanner is in choosing brightness levels, you may have better results with or without selecting Auto exposure (V1.6) or Enable exposure matching (V2.0) on the Blending properties dialog (Tools menu). In V2.0, you may wish to deselect Enable exposure correction (on the same dialog).

Since many scanners introduce a very small amount of distortion, you may find that you get better results by fine tuning the stitched image.

In V1.6, the default behavior is that fine tuning is not performed automatically so you must apply the Fine tune command (Image menu) after stitching. Or you may enable Automatically fine tune on the Fine tuning properties dialog (Tools menu).

In V2.0, the default behavior is that fine tuning is automatically applied, so you must deselect Automatically fine tune on the Fine tuning properties dialog (Tools menu) if you do not want to perform fine tuning.
