Can non-photo materials such as magazine articles be stitched together? Doesn't appear that it would work well from what I've read here.

Actually, The Panorama Factory works well for stitching non-photo materials after changing a few settings to disable image warping and exposure adjustments.

Many users have successfully stitched documents too large for their scanners that had to be scanned in sections. You should read these FAQs for helpful suggestions about stitching scanned material.
