I have a Nikon CP900 which can take various resolution pics, it also has a 3:2 aspect ration mode. In fine mode pic size is 2048x1536. How can I adjust the resolution of the original picture or whatever so my print is as close to my 11"x3.5" frame? I set the print width to 11" in STEP 4 but the Hight comes out to something like 2.4". I guess I have to create a set of photos with a corresponding image resolution aspect ration of 11:3.5?? What am I missing here? I am not sure I am asking the question right? I just want to print the my pano 11"x3.5" but it seem the original aspect ratio(s) will not allow me to do this??

Thanks everyone!
Tom

The aspect ratio (ratio of width to height) of your printed image comes directly from the aspect ratio of your stitched and cropped image. In your example, the aspect ratio is 11 x 2.4. To increase the height of the image to 3.5 images, you would need to increase the width to about 16 inches. If you were able to increase the height without increasing the width, the image would appear stretched vertically (or compressed horizontally).

There are two ways to get your image to print with a size of 11 x 3.5.

Recrop your image

If you recrop your image to have less width, but print it at 11 inches wide, the printed height will be increased accordingly. You would need to recrop your image to have a width that is approximately 2/3 of its original width. Then, when the width is expanded to fit 11 inches, its height will be expanded to about 3.5 inches.

Rescale your image non-uniformly

You can change your image by applying different horizontal and vertical scales in The Panorama Factory through the Resize command (New image menu). By removing the check from the Keep aspect ratio checkbox, you can change the width and height of your image independently. To make the image print 11 x 3.5, you would need to resize the image so that its height was increased by a factor of about 1.5 while keeping its width unchanged.
