Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible to get the program to output a debugging log. Being, a glutton for punishment, I though it might be cool to try to reproduce in the darkroom, what the software does in the digital domain.

If the program output some information about how it joined each pair of photos, I thought maybe that would serve as a good basis on how to stack the negatives. For example maybe the logfile would say:
-join point x1,y1 of image01 to point x2,y2 if image 02
-distort this
-change that
-etc...

Doable?

Ron

Ps. I just started my darkroom class 2 days ago, so this kinda negative stacking may not even be possible, but the idea is intriguing!

This is an intriguing idea. Unfortunately, there is no way to get The Panorama Factory to output this kind of log.

Besides, I think it would be difficult to perform the proper warping operation in the darkroom. In order to make your images match correctly, The Panorama Factory must reproject the images onto the surface of a cylinder or sphere. For more information on this warping, read the FAQs Cylindrical vs. Spherical Projection and Why do straight lines get turned into curves?
