I've noticed that when I zoom in on a QT I see areas that have a splotchy or mottled appearrance. Is this PF or QT? Am I doing something wrong? I've seen panos on the Nodal Ninja site that do not exhibit this problem. Yhanks in advance for any help and advice.

I agree that this sounds like a compression issue. The QuickTime export offers several different compression formats (JPEG, Sorenson, Cinepak and PNG). Each one has its strengths and weaknesses. You can also control the tradeoff between compression amount and image quality.

What values are you using on the QTVR settings dialog box (from the QTVR settings button on the Save image as dialog box)? Have you tried different settings?

If you cannot resolve the problem with QTVR settings, I suggest you send an example of the problem to customer support at support@panoramafactory.com. For individual attention to specific problems, it's usually best to contact customer support directly so that we can enter into an email dialog about the problem.

John, Thanks for the reply. I've been playing around and believe what I was seeing was caused by the fact that the imported image files were too large. I was taking D200 NEF files and converting them to JPEG in PS CS2 and not reducing image size. I guess PF and/or QT were doing a little squeezing of data. I'll keep trying different things. I am impresseed with how easy your program is to use in comparison with about four or five others I've tried and the results are quite good.

Doug
