Hi John,
I just downloaded your programm and i am very excited about using it.
I have lots of interest in panorama photographie.
When making panorama pictures, i use a zoom lens (20-35 mm) so i can only approximates the real focal .
Is it a important problem while using the programm ?

You will get better results if you enter the correct focal length. You should try to write down the approximate focal length setting you used on your zoom lens and use that as an approximation.
If you start with a good approximation, you can use the Fine tune button on the Focal length dialog (Tools menu) to refine the value.

Multiple shot panorama can be compiled using any lens length. You must use the same one for the whole shoot. Take your shots on a tripod, with an offset adaptor that allows for your level camera to tripod pivot directly at the front of the lens. This makes no angles movement in the picts at all. No wide angle lens needed. Perfect distortionless 360+ panorama capable. keithd@usa.com |

Experience is that wide-angle lenses distort the picture, the shorter the focal length, the higher is the ("barrel") distortion - that makes the stitching job harder, some cases impossible. Try higher focal lengths, such as 50...55mm (the "human eye view") or higher zooms (provided the tele lens has a somewhat better quality, so will not show "cushion" distortion) |
