I have had a great deal of success using PF's hotspots/links for websites. Now I have a client who wants to use one that I made for their website on an interactive CD-Rom that I am creating. When I made the website version my the URL field said: javascript:showlink('Services/LaserCutting.htm'). What should it say for the interactive CD? Remember, I do not want to direct to the website, I want to go to the Laser Cutting section on the iCD.

It seems to me that you should be able to transfer the web onto the CD without any changes. URLs should remain valid no matter where the web is stored if they are relative URLs, e.g. Services/LaserCutting.htm rather than absolute URLs, e.g. http://www.someweb.com/Services/LaserCutting.htm, then .

Of course, you should always burn a test CD to be sure it works before going into production.

I hope this helps. If the test CD shows problems that you can't solve, I'll try to help sort it out.

Actually the hotspots on the panoramas work great on the authored CD-Roms. If you click on one it will actually go to the related web page. I want to make a hotpsot that will jump to another section on the iCD itself.

I apologize for posting without really understanding the question. I didn't realize that you were referring to CD-i, an older format than DVD that supports interactive computer games as well as movies.

I thought you were asking about creating an interactive CD in the sense that it would be a CD containing an interactive web.

I have to admit that I am unfamiliar with CD-i. Development of CD-i content is beyond the scope of The Panorama Factory and its customer support, except as it can be used to help build webs that could be put on a CD-i.

I tried to do a little web research about CD-i, but didn't come up with much. A link that is referenced in many places, the "CD-i FAQ maintained by Jorg Kennis" at http://www.icdia.org/faq/, seems to no longer exist.

I did find a CD-i FAQ at http://www.mpeg1.de/faq/cdi.faq that contains a list of Related documents for prospective CD-i developers. Perhaps you might find something helpful in one of those documents. The FAQ also provides a list of Organizations that provide CD-i information, products and services. You might find some technical help by contacting one of those organizations.

Sorry that I haven't been much help.
