i have been playing with the trial and must say i like this software. i do have a couple of questions.

1. when using the wizard, it appears that the image is sharpened. i don't see an option to turn this off. am i missing something?

2. once an image has been enhanced, is there a way to remove this? i haven't been able to figure this out yet.

Yes, the Wizard does apply sharpening. To adjust the amount of sharpening or to turn it off entirely, you'll have to use the Classic (menu-based) interface to the program.

BTW, the sharpening is done through the Enhance image processing step, so there is a single answer to both of your questions.

The Wizard is produces a standard stitching project using the set of image processing commands we think is the "normal" set of commands. If you want more flexibility, you should learn about the Classic (menu-based) interface.

The Wizard makes a stitching project just like one created with menu commands. A stitching project is a series of image processing commands that are applied in sequence--a sort of image processing "recipe". After creating the project, you can use the Classic interface to adjust the parameters to any step in the project. The Panorama Factory will recalculate the subsequent image processing steps. you can continue adjusting until you're satisfied with the result.

You can start your project from scratch with menu commands or start with the Wizard. Then afterwards, you can adjust any or all of the stitching parameters with menu commands.

To learn more about the Classic interface, please refer to Using the Classic interface, step by step in the online help.

Adjust the amount of sharpening

1. After stitching with the Wizard, press the Done button to exit the Wizard. A set of thumbnail images will be displayed at the top of the screen representing the individual image processing steps.

2. The sharpened (enhanced) image is the last thumbnail, identified as the "Final Image". Right-click its thumbnail and select the Show Source command. This will show the unsharpened image in the lower window pane.

3. Use the mouse to draw a "preview rectangle" on the image. You'll see a preview of the sharpened image within this rectangle.

4. Adjust the amount of sharpening on the Filter control dialog box. Click the Approve button when you're satisfied with the result.

5. Save or print the "Final Image" shown in the lower window pane.

Eliminate the sharpening (enhancement) entirely

1. After stitching with the Wizard, press the Done button to exit the Wizard. A set of thumbnail images will be displayed at the top of the screen representing the individual image processing steps.

2. Click the thumbnail for the "Final Image" to select it.

3. Press the Delete key (or select the Delete command from the Edit menu) to remove the sharpened image from the project.

4. Double-click the last thumbnail (usually a "cropped" or "resized" image) to make it the current image shown in the lower window pane.

5. Save or print the current image.

(You don't actually need to delete the "Final Image". You could just double-click the "cropped" or "resized" image and save it without deleting the sharpened image.)

I hope this helps!
