I have tried printing the panoramic pictures but haven't had any luck. Do you have any recommendations. Possibly a page setup that addresses the printers supposedly capable of this would be nice. I tried printing from MS Publisher and Photoshop and selecting banner printing on the HP 970 but still no luck.

Try the Epson Stylus Photo 1270 which is equipped to print up to 13" by 44".

I am new to panaroma photography.I need software that will print bordeless images across multiple pages (I want to use the entire page on each section of the image and overlap the pages. I have a Canon I960 printer.

Try QImage from ddisoftware.com
I've used, with my Epson 1290s, Paper Rolls 329mm, and 210mm wide, and length whatever is required, but you need to read the QImage Manual/Instructions. There is a maximum length, but QImage will automatically cut your pans into component parts of this or less length, and then print them, (without borders), they are then a virtual continuous print.

If you want to be able to create very large page sizes and print seamless panoramas then I would suggest using Adobe InDeisgn. I had some similar troubles before creating a sheet size bigger than 18" long and InDeisgn was excellent for this.
