Hi,

I don't use a tripod when taking panorama sets (OK I realise I *should*, but it's the hassle of carrying a tripod ...). If the camera is misaligned slightly such that it is not exactly *level* between shots, the resulting panorama is spoiled by the presence of a something that looks like a "circular smudge" which is centered on the matching point of the two members. I presume this is because you are currently not doing any angular transformations between panorama members, you're only performing a 2d liniear transformation.

I realise that to do this kind of angular transformation would significantly increase the complexity of the code, but are there any plans to do anything like this ? It would certainly make the software more generally useful for people (like me) who do not wish to use a tripod.

The ability to stitch images that are rotated and/or tilted is on the list of features for the next major release (V4.0). This significantly improves panoramas made from hand held photos where there are small (or even fairly large) rotation differences between photos. I cannot give you a release date at this time, but it is under development!
